sigh i’ve done nothing. i mean, i have a few doodles of some dragons but it was against my own will, a friend wanted to see me draw those. for the most part i haven’t done anything for myself for this part of the challenge. i am. exhausted. for some reason i can finish a 300 paged book in one day and not draw a circle. i think that the challenge has helped me improve somewhat compared to the beginning of the month. all i’ve ever drawn were humans because that was my comfort zone - i’m slowly crawling out of it to explore more and figure out new artistic techniques. i’m trying to sound like a pro here but i’m really not. i’m pretty satisfied by my efforts in this challenge. last year i went through months without drawing a line so i think i’ve reached my goal of mustering up the motivation for my hobbies. i hope i can keep it up in the future. everyone else out here is doing some beneficial stuff like eating healthier and i’m over here struggling to make a circle. i’ve failed my family :( i got in touch with a friend from two years ago - he said he liked my artwork. i think that’ll spark some motivation for later. this is all i have. sighhhhhh

I’m.. failing the challenge. But at least I did something, right? This week was mostly spring break, so you would assume that I had more free time to create more content, but no. Me, being the disappointment that I am, decided to stay up until sunrise playing Fire Emblem and snoozing until sunset. The only times I really drew was fanart for my friend (and I don’t remember when) I was going to do something for Cindy for her birthday but I didn’t :( i’m sorry the challenge hasn’t been helping me besides to keep my hands busy during this very, very long and boring spring break. i mean, i’ve gotten a little better at colouring digitally - i think i found my style on that. also i’m trying to learn poses and anatomy. small steps but still progress- though a lot of the poses were traced so i could build muscle memory. i got invited to some art meeting by my art 1 teacher today..? so did other people but i’d like to thank my challenge for that. i guess it’s slowly helping me reach my goal, though I can’t even attend the meeting… contest… whatever it is. here’s your weekly dosage of weird stuff not my character.. belongs to a friend the same person as above she’s... i don’t know.. a girl in a dress
as predicted, i’m already starting to fail my challenge. :( it’s not the end of the world - my challenge doesn’t really.. make me a better person, per say. so it’s okay to slip up a few times. i really did not have the energy to draw anything since last monday due to ms harrison’s project and me getting sick. that’s it really. i just like to sleep don’t hurt me due to my lack of motivation i did nothing for an entire week until literally just today where i suddenly got a burst of energy and created four pieces in under 24 hours. it’s weird really i get these moods where i just want to self loathe for days and then i get a random spasm of energy. anyways- the challenge has been helping me in staying productive, to say the least. i’m not a rich white person so i don’t get to go anywhere during spring break. it’s keeping my hands and mind busy without losing my sanity. how is this challenge helping me reach me goal? it’s really not at the moment because i’m not succeeding at my challenge so far. i need to draw something at least everyday but failed to do so. tis my own character tis chara from undertale tis zero two from darling in the franxx . tis yuri from doki doki lit club
all of thee had more to them but it was all.. bloody n stuff so i had to keep it pg-13. i swear i’m not psychopathic it just so happened to be that most of these characters like knives and i wanted fanart for them. trust me they scare me they’re just cool-looking and im also mad because one of my friends flew to mexico out of nowhere like it takes my family a year to be prepared to fly anywhere and buy groceries and stuff but this girl just got her tickets in under a day and went to mexico and went scuba diving shes white i don’t understand my first idea for this 30-day challenge was to stop eating junk food, but i brought four bags of takis the very same day, so i thought “why do something that you’re not even going to try to accomplish.” hence why my challenge now is to try to draw something everyday. ive heard a lot of people tell me that it isn’t a challenge, that it’s easy, but i swear that it’s not as simple as you think it is. often, more times than not, it takes hours just to get a sketch done, and all of your time and energy to finish it with details. not to mention that i’m only used to drawing over the weekend because i barely have time on schooldays, so i believe that it’ll be helpful in teaching me time management skills as well as further improve as an artist since i wish to get a side job with a hobby that i enjoy. with that being said... i think i’m doing okay with the challenge so far. i don’t have too many finished pieces, plus i’m sick as of today so i was hoping to make something better.. but we can’t all get what we want. i have seen noticeable impacts doing this challenge- ironically (i hope i used that word correctly) it actually helped me stop procrastinating. i do my work earlier in the day so i have more free time to brainstorm ideas, draw. and then relax. the challenge is helping me reach my goal because.. well, it’s self-explanatory. it’s helping me improve - practice makes (almost) perfect). you want photo evidence? this is technically self-promotion, but okay. this was 3/2’s doodle. sorry to all you homophobes out there.. psyche. 3/3’s fanart.. Killmonger from Black Panther because you gotta love the villains. 3/4’s doodle of Lucina from fire emblem and 3/5’s doodle of Azura from fire emblem.
One thing I’d absolutely love to change about my personal life is my social group. I’m unfortunately stuck with bullies such as Alanna, Benjamin, and Ajibola. Every day, they pester me to the point where I’ve lost my point in existing and my reason to live. For example, Benjamin constantly threatens to doom me to Tartarus and traumatizes Alanna and I with a story of how he killed his pet fish. Alanna triggers me with her anime obsessions and her theories of Hamilton and the previous founding fathers. Aji, however, is the worst – he watches the Vampire Diaries and blinds me with how white he is on the inside. It’s kind of horrifying, actually. All three of them combined create this terrifying monster that leaves me shivering for weeks. On an honest note, I don’t have much I wish to change. Perhaps I could be less awkward and be an emo rock star. Look at how beautiful this person is. I approve.
If you’re a low-life and spend most of your days on the Internet, you should have already seen a legendary meme starring Ugandan Knuckles, who spits and protects anime queens while clicking their tongues and saying, “do you know the way” with a sharp African accent. Many nOrmiEs are confused as to what this meme means and what it’s a reference to. My job here is to teach you the way of the African hedgehog. The Ugandan Knuckles phrases are related to the film “Who Killed Captain Alex?” This is an action-comedy movie famous for its distorted English lines, “do you know the way?” being the most popular one. The avatar for our beloved red hedgehog was created by Deviantart user tidiesflyer, who made a 3D model of a parody image made by Gregzilla. These memes got viral on VRChat, which “lets you create, publish, and explore virtual worlds with other people from around the world.” VRChat user Gaztons combined these two memes together and originated the meme that is now viral, Ugandan Knuckles. “Basically, he uses the avatar to recruit players to join his “tribe.” While some players to make humor videos using the Ugandan Knuckles model, most groups gather around to shout “you do not know the way” and make clicking noises to protect a queen – usually an anime girl like Kanna from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. VRChat was quickly overtaken by anime girls during its launch but now Ugandan Knuckles has stolen the limelight. Certain servers ban and block Ugandan Knuckles players.” This is racial discrimination against hedgehogs. Despite the meme being extremely obnoxious and overused, many people have been deeply spiritually connected to the echidna, finally discovering “de way” without going to church. The meme has made serious progress and seems to be the first major meme of 2018, ignoring tide pods and Logan Paul because they both suck. Oh, but Sahar, I’m still upset over my self-diagnosed depression and life has no meaning, how is this supposed to make me feel better about my unprivileged life as I read this from my three 4000k flat-screen televisions in my $1,000,000,000 home etc etc? It’s quite simple, actually. You just have to “know de wae” and you’ll be worry-free for the rest of your life. Just kidding. Our existence is pointless.
Separating genders in education is extremely biased and limits a child’s world if you enforce it onto them early in life. Education has nothing to do with gender. Girls and boys do not learn any differently from each other. If anything, a student’s learning style depends on their personality rather than their sex. The article states that, “in one third-grade classroom, the walls are bordered by cheetah and zebra prints, bright pink caddies hold pencils and glue sticks, and a poster at the front lists rules, including ‘Act pretty at all times!’ Next door, cutouts of racecars and pictures of football players line the walls, and a banner behind the teacher’s desk reads ‘Coaches Corner’”. This is disheartening to hear. Schools should not be focusing on enforcing gender stereotypes onto children. This forces a child to believe that they absolutely must follow unwritten stereotypes as they grow up, leading to them avoid pursuing their personal interests. For example, a girl might be told that she can only strive in art and literature when they might have the potential to become a legendary doctor. A boy might be told that he can only strive in math and science when he could become a famous future actor or author. Changing the way kids learn and monitoring what information they absorb based on their sex does more harm than good. It’s absurd. I assume another reason people want to follow out on same-sex classes is because they believe that boys distract girls and vice versa. Once again, that is a biased opinion. Personality differences are what lead to distractions, not genders. I know plenty of quiet men and loud women. Through personal experience, in classes such as Foundation of Fitness for Girls, it is still noisy and chaotic despite the class having zero males. If a school wishes to improve their students’ academic performances, it would be much wiser to take a look at themselves first before the kids. Of course, a child’s personal life may affect their grades and distract them, but a school cannot be dismissive about those problems and try to avoid them entirely by doing things such as same-sex classes. A school isn’t required to only teach academically, it can teach social skills as well. Adulthood isn’t always about academics. Since a kid Is forced to spend 9 hours a day for five days of the week at a school, it wouldn’t hurt to give them a lesson they can actually follow throughout their life. That can improve a class average of a D much higher than a C anyday. (personally, i have never really seen much of an issue regarding discrimination against genders. though that's probably only because we live in a very diverse open community. more than half of america is still white and probably still living in the 1950s so i feel pity)
this year has been a wild ride if i do say so myself. if i were to be honest it was the worst and best year of my life so WOO! here’s my list, counting down from 10, with 1 being the best moment of the year. 10. Guy Checking Out Girl Meme This meme is great. I wonder if the people in the photo shoot got paid enough money for this gift. They’re angels that have blessed us with the glory of actually putting our idiocy into good use, which means putting dumb labels in a white box with an Arial font over a couple of white people for laughs. Is this the meaning of life? I honestly hope not. Moving on. 9. Hopeless Fountain Kingdom (Halsey) Me? Obsessed with Halsey? Whose stage name is an anagram of her real name and a reference to the New York City subway in Brooklyn? Whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane? Who was born September 29, 1994? Who calls herself Tri-Bi - biracial, bisexual, and happens to have bipolar disorder? Me? Obsessed with her? Pssssssshhhh, you must be thinking of someone else. Anyhow. she released her new album this summer; June 2, 2017. It’s titled Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. If I were to be honest I’m not a big fan of her as I used to be, but her music is still worth listening to even if the style is similar to a lot of pop artists. Her voice is still soothing to listen to and quitte unique, and the lyrics to certain songs such as “Sorry”. And before anyone labels me for being emo, it’s pop music.. please.. spare me for today I’m just trying to write this blog post in time. 8. Expanding Brain Meme All I can say for this part is one of Nathan’s famous lines when he was presenting his project for the 1960s. “GET KNOWLEDGED!” i still sadly remember. i’m sorry nathan. you looked so traumatized and scared when you tried to make a joke out of it. 7. Mania (Fall Out Boy) Me? Obsessed over Fall Out Boy? You right. I’m not. All I know is that this short guy that always wears a Fedora is the lead singer.. and somehow sings really good. If you want to know more about the band, go ask Alanna or check out her blog. I don’t know as much about this album as her so if you want some depth into it, go to Alanna’s blog. Putting that aside, their songs are pretty awesome. Even if their style is different than their previous albums it’s still worth listening to. Unless you listen to Cardi B or something then get out of my blog, you won’t last long here and i’m allergic to that genre of music. Please. 6. Hurricane Harvey Okay. I know Hurricane Harvey is a serious topic and it shouldn’t be taken lightly and shouldn’t be joked about. It is the costliest cyclone on record from the Atlantic Ocean and I understand it has affected lots of people, so you may be confused as to why I’m adding it to one of the best moments in 2017. Well first off, it got me two weeks out of school. Secondly, it made landfall on my birthday. If I live long enough to have children and grandchildren, that would be one sick story to tell. Having a hurricane on your 13th birthday while they’ll probably get a self-driving car on their 13th birthday. What a shame. 5. Snow This one’s pretty self-explanatory. Haven’t seen snow since maybe 2009. I actually did not get any sleep that night, and it was a school day - by the time i left school that day i was awake for approximately 36 hours. That’s a new record for me. I had a science DCA too. But it was worth it. I was out during the heavy part of the snowstorm and the snow literally cut my face. And my mom threw a snowball at my eye which is ironic because back in 2009 my brother threw a snowball at the same eye. God hates me. 4. After Laughter (Paramore) Me? Obsessed with Paramore? YOU BET I AM! They released their new album After Laughter and i love each and evERY ONE of their songs. Hayley Williams, the lead singer, had a small interview with iHeartRadio about the album’s meaning. ”After Laughter is about the look on people’s faces when they’re done laughing. If you watch somebody long enough, there’s always this look that comes across their face when they’re done smiling, and I always find it really fascinating to wonder what it is that brought them back to reality. So, that’s what After Laughter is.” Hayley Williams also had just recently felt anxiety and depression for the first time so expect some really emotional songs from the album despite the upbeat music. I’ve listened to this band since I was a kid and I always will. 3. Justice League I just like my superhero movies. And how the flash and the robot guy called themselves mistakes. It was better than the Avengers at least. No it wasn’t i’m just trying to give this movie some credit. 2. The Last Jedi (Star Wars) Now THIS. THIS is the one and only movie i actually care about, and the only movie series I care about. If I were to be honest, this was the best star wars movie of all time. Mainly because of the shirtless Kylo Ren meme. but also because of how it was the last one with Carrie Fisher in it (rest in peace she was a legend) and it was very well thought out and planned and it had good humour and a good story. I have so many feelings about this movie. But i’m pretty sure nobody is reading this far anyway. 1. Alanna Alanna (dabbing).
Its actually 3:05 AM this was a late post please forgive me goodnight So, this will be about my road trip from Houston to Canada because it was the only thing I could write 300 words about. Such a shame because I had a lot of good memes but I guess I have to be serious now. Yes. My family of four decided to hop onto a car and drive to Niagara Falls, Canada. Instead of taking a plane. Because we were that extra. Anyway, we stalled a lot on our first day of the trip. I usually wake up at 1-3 pm but I was forced to wake up at 7 am. Which was useless because at the end we only left Houston at around 4 pm. The farthest we drove to was Texarkana, TX, which is near the border between Texas and Arkansas. That’s where this picture of me sleeping in a hotel bed was taken (which, by the way, was my first time ever going to a hotel. the bed was noticeably cozier than the blanket of rocks I sleep on because I’m homeless.) Also, side note: never go to Texarkana. It took us three hours to find our hotel because the city has two stories. Literally. There’s a road you have to take that spirals upwards to go to the second story- it’s- it’s weird and dangerous. So by the time we got to our hotel it was already 3 am and it was useless to fall asleep. $150 gone to waste. This photo was taken while driving to St. Louis, Missouri, on our second day of the trip. It was just a really nice sunset. It looked cool. They also have a building that changes color- This video of the Mississippi River here was taken on our third day of our trip, in Memphis, Tennessee. This was actually right after we passed Little Rock, so I got to visit the place we learned about last year in 7th grade with the Little Rock Nine - thanks Ms. Hernandez. I didn’t get to see the school, though. It was a very nice looking town. So was Memphis. It was well structured and though downtown was crowded, it was also a fun place. We’re still on our third day of the trip - this right here is the edge of a funnel cloud we happened to have to drive through. It was a heavy storm and we waded the tornado out near a gas station (because the vast majority of this path was just a dirt road and flat land. Acres and acres of wheat and corn and grass. Literally, the gas station was the safest place to hide in.) Luckily, the tornado died quickly and wasn’t that strong. It didn’t pass near us but it was a cool sight. Here comes the fourth day of our trip. By now, I am carsick. Trust me, you wouldn’t like sitting in a car over 12 hours a day for four consecutive days. I got more sleep in this trip than I do during schooldays because of how boring most of the view is. Also, yes, I know, the first two photos are awkward. I didn’t take them, my mom did. Don’t trust her with a phone. Anyway, these were taken in Chicago, Illinois. I don’t know why I was wearing a sweater because it was hotter there than it is in Houston. There was a group of college students that jumped into the lake when it was prohibited to swim in it.. but you only live once, right? (The lake was Lake Michigan, by the way.) My mother used to live here and worked at a Dunkin Donuts 20 years ago so we went around looking for it. Chicago is a very, VERY, messy city. Some people were passing weed in front of our faces. It’s... very amusing. There were parties every fifteen miles and you can barely drive without running over somebody. It’s a city built for me. I would love to live there. These two photos were taken on our last day of the trip. Buffalo, New York. It was right on the edge of the border between the US and Canada. The next day, we crossed the border and headed to Niagara Falls. Sadly, I do not have access to the photos to publish them onto this post. I will say that the view was amazing. The waterfall sometimes made it drizzle rain and cooled us down from the heat. I had to walk four miles - yes, four miles - to get photos from every inch of the waterfall. I regret it too because the walking blistered my foot and made it bleed - I forgot to put socks on and my shoes were rubbing against my foot, but that's besides the point. The road trip was worth it. The ride back home was boring but it was still worth it.
Net neutrality is, by Google's definition, "the principle that Internet service providers should enable access to all content and applications regardless of the source, and without favoring or blocking particular products or websites.". You may or may not have heard about the FCC attempting to remove this Internet function. Net neutrality was added on the 26th of February in 2015. Before that, the internet was functioning fine and pleased everyone's needs. Now though, people are unsure.
According to http://fortune.com/2017/11/21/what-net-neutrality-means-for-you/, "when net neutrality is enforced, as it is right now, all internet service providers must allow equal access to apps and content, regardless of the source. If it were not enforced, your internet service provider could make it harder for you to access parts of the internet at its own discretion." This means corporations will get discriminated on - smaller businesses won't be able to grow while the big ones will grow even bigger. Network services will be able to block certain websites and make certain connections even slower. People who live in rural areas will have a more difficult time accessing the Internet. It won't affect normal users like us much, but the reason this is angering so many people is because this is a case of whether the head of the FCC is doing the right thing. As of right now, since Dec 14, 2017, there was a vote between 5 FCC members that occurred whether to repeal net neutrality or not to. 3 people have voted yes, to repeal net neutrality. Now, the act has to go through Congress before it is finally enacted. Previously, I stated that before 2015, there was no net neutrality and we were fine. I didn’t fact check it thoroughly. 2015, we had STRICT net neutrality (named Title II), yet before then, there was still some form of net neutrality. It was just weak. Ajit Pai, the head of the FCC, called our complaints “unrealistic hyperboles” when in reality, there have been companies that have attempted to discriminate other businesses even WITH net neutrality. For example, AT&T tried to block FaceTime from apple users so they can buy AT&T’s services. Without ANY form of net neutrality, corporations have an easier chance to control what you see and can’t see. Ajit Pai lies between his teeth on television and gives us false hope, saying that before 2015, no business blocked anything you saw so it’ll be fine now. However, he never said that net neutrality existed back then too when it did; he gave false information. Any effects of the repeal of net neutrality will take effect around 2018, if it even goes through Congress. You can easily send letters to your representatives to take your side. Until then, enjoy some memes. |
